Poorly fitting and inappropriate saddlery can have an adverse effect on an
animal’s musculoskeletal system, and key issues here are covered by a
Master Saddler, who is a Society of Master Saddlers Qualified Saddle
Fitter, an SMS Course Lecturer, and also Past President of the Society of
Master Saddlers. He is often also accompanied by a further Society of
Master Saddlers Qualified Saddle Fitter, who is also an SMS course lecturer
and Assessor (City and Guilds approved).
An appreciation of various dental issues is provided by a qualified Equine
Dental Technician (although students are not taught to perform any actual
dental procedures).
