Applicants are required to possess a significant background of appropriate prior academic achievement, preferably to degree level, with a clear motivation to pursue the course. However, consideration will also be given to motivated, mature people with a demonstrable record of achievement in non-academic areas, where a high level of determination and will to succeed can be evidenced.

Prior equine experience and a general competence in handling horses is a necessary prerequisite, and all students are required to have access to equestrian centres, livery yards or individual horses.

All viable applicants are invited to attend an open interview session at the College, usually held during the summer before the September course commencement.
